Day 43 - Inpatient Stay - 30 weeks

30 weeks today!!! 2 weeks to go!!! As of yesterday I have been inpatient for 6 weeks. The time does seem to pass quite quickly which is really good and I am hoping the next two weeks go by just as fast. Waking up to a coat of snow on the ground today was kind of refreshing. Of course I don’t have to go out into the snow or drive in it!

Not much has changed since Tuesday. The babies dopplers have come back down and everything looks pretty good. Both girls are getting 8 out of 8 on their bio/physicals which is wonderful and that reassures us that the babies are healthy and getting the blood flow they need.

My contractions have stopped and I will be ending one of the medications today. Hopefully everything will stay calm.

Thank you again for all of the cards, thoughts, prayers, visits, food and everything else. We feel truly blessed during this holiday season to have the support we received through this journey. I will update the blog again when we have any new developments. Until then have a wonderful week and weekend!

  1. Hi, I am a proud, actually VERY proud mommy of mono boys born December 11th 2008. Tomorrow we will celebrate their first birthday party. It just doesn't seem possible.I vividly remember my life this time last year, it is the same life you are living right now. I left my precious husband at home to take care of our three little girls while I lived in the hospital praying to make it to 32 weeks. Thanksgiving Day was my 28th week and I remember rejoicing that we had made it to a "safe" place. Our blog is www.patemiracles.blogspot.com if you want to read about them. You'd have to scroll to the archives and click on Nov. and Dec. 2008 to read the beginning of their story. Their names are James Daniel and John David. They were born 2 pounders and are now completely healthy and well. I will be praying for you and your baby girls. I know how your heart feels. I will never forget our journey. I made it to 30 weeks before the knotted cords started showing some blood flow concern. Our specialist told us that taking them at 30 weeks was safer than leaving them in for risk of heart or brain damage. I am grateful God protected them and I am thankful to our doctors who kept a close watch on me. I will keep up with your progress and pray that you make it to 32 weeks.

  2. Kelly, Thinking of you and your baby girls. Happy to hear things are well at 30 weeks. Just seems like the other day when you found out you were having twins. It will be wonderful to welcome you all home.
